No Cry Babies Here
Admit it. We all cry. Even the most tough-as-nails types will shed a tear or two when the moment is right. Yet, when our public personalities go all weepy, searchers bombard the Buzz for more on the display.
First, the case of the sensitive candidate. Hillary Clinton misted up at a New Hampshire press conference on January 8—and buzz on the spectacle continues to reel. Over the past week, queries for "hillary clinton emotional" surged more than 240%. Demand for "hillary clinton crying" and "hillary clinton cries" is still flowing online.
Next up is teary Terrell. In a post-game press conference this week, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens blubbered over criticism of a teammate. Since then, buzz has howled upwards for "terrell owens crying," "t.o. cries," "terrell owens crying video," and "terrell owens crying interview." Lookups of "t.o. crying" landed in today's top 10 movers.
Hillary's quivering chin will eventually be overtaken by other stories. But searchers may not forget Owens' sniffy, voice-cracking moment as quickly. In 2005, another wide receiver, Pittsburgh Steelers player Hines Ward, broke down at a press conference. To this day, one of the most requested searches for the footballer is "hines ward crying."
